Manly run community leaders
Rach
Rach kicked off the first Sydney Femmi run club at Manly beach, as a way to connect over her favourite combinations of running, sunrise and coffee! Rach has been actively involved in the running scene ever since primary school x-country days in England: “Running has always been the anchor in my life, the shared energy that sparks friendships wherever I am in the world and the fresh eyes to see and be with the land I’m lacing up on.”
Lauren
Laurens running journey started as a sprinter competing in the 100m and 200m, she then spent the majority of her life as a footballer ⚽️. End of 2021 Lauren rediscovered her love of running, joining Femmi after hearing co-founder, Lydia speak about training in alignment with female physiology. Being an introvert Lauren was super nervous to turn up to Femmi RC Manly, but the welcoming community quickly became a source of friendship and support 🥰. Now, as a run leader, Lauren is passionate about fostering an inclusive environment where education and support are key. Laurens favourite distances to race are anything from the half to the ultra marathon.
Jas
When asked how long Jas has been running she often has nostalgic memories of primary school and remembers instantly clicking with the sport. 30 years on and running is still the love of her life! Over the years, her focus has taken natural turns towards different goals. Jas loves the energy around building to a specific event and has so much respect for those committing to training blocks, but also puts a lot of emphasis on the importance of running for pure enjoyment. She is passionate about her local (and global!) run communities and promoting an inclusive space for all. Jas believes there is no other sport that connects and fosters life-long friendships quite like running does, she can’t wait for you to join Femmi RC Manly!
Becca
Becca discovered her love for running after moving to Australia in 2017. After being inspired by her incredible friend running the New York marathon, she decided to give it ago. Since then running has been the catalyst for building some pretty special relationships and Becca continues to be inspired by the incredible people she meets. You’ll find Becca at Femmi RC Manly usually accompanied by her running buddy Masego the springer spaniel.
